Guidance and Discipline Policy

Redirection
      
For our younger members (18mo - 2 1/2 years), I believe that the best form of guidance is redirection. If redirection isn't achieving the desired goal, or is not an appropriate form of guidance, the next step is to use positive discipline, which shall include the following:

a) Communicate to children using positive statements

b) Encourage children with adult support, to use their own words and solutions in order to  
    resolve their own conflict.

c) Communicate with children by getting down to their eye level and talking with them in a calm, 
     quiet manner.
    As the parent, you may have some concerns or wish to offer suggestions and I am here to listen.  
    I will do my best to follow the same guidelines and limits that you may have already set and you can take comfort in knowing I will offer the best care possible for your child.
